Tshiah-hue is a field guide to Taiwanese tattoo culture, a pocket-sized dictionary for the global “guest spot” scene. In tattooing, a guest spot is like an artist residency, only the canvas is skin, and the paint is ink.
The book gathers twelve distinct visual dialects: some clean and sharp like graphic design, others wildly expressive. Tradition meets experimentation through lines and textures, turning “Taiwanese flavor” into a rhythm the world can read.
It’s not a manual urging you to get tattooed, but a book where you can almost hear the hum of tattoo machines boarding planes — next stop, Kyoto, Berlin, or somewhere else entirely.
The humor lies in every design whispering, “Don’t worry, I’m permanent.”
