🧒🏻👦🏼 is a design studio 🔎️ that explores a diverse array of graphics, prints 📁, risograph 🔮️ and visual experiments.
O.OO™ is a visual design laboratory that consists of two graphic designers. With our experience in RISOGRAPH printing, our studio adopts a flexible and dynamic approach to design that creates plenty of innovative visual works. Visual experimentation has become one of the features of O.OO.

People always ask us: “What is O.OO?” As we didn’t stay in the studio often and our creative inspiration usually originated from places outside, we made a joke of ourselves. We took the phrase “Out of Office” as the name of our studio. The dot between OOO makes it look like the number “0.00” on a calculator, meaning the beginning and end of every design project. We believe we should return to our starting point to embrace all creative possibilities, and not forget our original intention.
In the summer of 2016, we were flipping through the postcards acquired from our trip. Some of these cards feature slanted printing and uneven ink performance. When every designer pursues delicate printing qualities today, these print matters seem to come from another universe. It was one of the stories that gave birth to O.OO: our first contact with RISOGRAPH printing. Such imperfect harmony mesmerized us. Though we were untaught in these printing methods and design, we started our research in RISOGRAPH from zero. Nevertheless, the less we knew about this printing method, the more astonishment we received afterward. As we explored deeper into such discipline, we started to believe in RISOGRAPH’s potential to become another common choice of printing in this era.
The journey of exploring RISOGRAPH has always been liberating. Such imperfect progress allows us to experience more possibilities of design.
After the 2nd anniversary of O.OO, we collected many failed experiences of our RISOGRAPH practice and edited them into the Imperfection Booklets. In the same year, we were selected by It’s Nice That into the TOP 25 Graphic Design of 2016. Later on, our works were included in several books published by Victionary, BrandD, AXIS, and idea Magazine.
In 2018, the Japan Foundation and JR-East invited us to Tokyo and Nara for designer residencies. We participated in several rebranding and sustainable design projects organized by Tokyo Seeds and Door to Asia. Near the end of the same year, the Magical Riso conference in the Netherlands also invited us as keynote speakers. In the next year, we received commissions as the visual coordinators of Taiwan’s 108th National Day Celebration event and the 55th Golden Bell Awards. In 2021, Typojanchi (the International Typography Biennale) invited us as participants.

在成立O.OO兩年後,我們將各種在RISOGRAPH印刷上的失敗經驗,編輯成Imperfection Booklets,在同年也被It's Nice That 評選為TOP 25 Graphic Design of 2016,我們的作品之後陸續受到紐約TDC和東京TDC獲選,並且被Victionary、BranD、AXIS、idea Magazine等出版社之專書收錄。
