🧒🏻👦🏼 is a design studio 🔎️ that explores a diverse array of graphics, prints 📁, risograph 🔮️ and visual experiments.
Risograph is unlike CMYK printing. Through an independent system, it prints out colors individually, just like Pantone.
O.OO™ has a total of 16 colors available at the moment. Please check the color swatches below!
If this is your first trial of stencil printing, we suggest starting with duotone (using just two colors) printing. When designing your images, try to take advantage of the transparent properties of the Risograph oil ink. By overlapping two colors, you may get the third special color when they are appropriately mixed!
If you want to print on both sides of the paper, we suggest not using more than 4 colors on one side, and your design must avoid going full bleed!
When making the files, we must consider the imperfection of stencil printing. For example, it is expected to see an uneven color distribution when printing with a full bleed. Or when the paper surface features an unsmooth texture, the printout can look pretty speckled. It is inevitable to receive an inaccurate position of colors in duotone printing.
It is the tiny imperfections that make each print unique. While it’s never perfect, you will always enjoy the color vibrancy and paper tactility in every printout that digital printing can’t offer!
Frm mono-color to multi-color, you may experiment with different ways of overprinting. Still, the cost must be considered before the print production begins. The more colors in use, the higher the price will be.
